# Stock 240SX rear-wiper preview

The bright diagonal crossing the rear glass belongs to authored mesh
`240SX_KIT00_TRUNK_A_0_slice2_slot0`: 31 triangles using material hash
`0x0fedee40` (`DULLPLASTIC`) and unresolved texture slot `0x77a20245`.
Its narrow arm, blade and lower pivot identify rear-wiper geometry, rather
than a pane or defroster overlay.

The exporter now assigns only that exact object, vertex/index pair, slice,
slot, material hash and texture key a separate dull-plastic preview material.
It uses the existing dark trim fallback `[0.08, 0.09, 0.10, 1]`, becoming
`[0.0736, 0.0828, 0.092, 1]` after the normal slot tint. This is an appearance
approximation; the retail wiper texture/material color remains unresolved.
Other DULLPLASTIC uses keep their existing fallback.

A focused `--only 240SX` rebuild retained the garage manifest byte for byte.
Comparing primitive materials before and after finds exactly one changed
primitive, the named wiper. The GLB binary chunk is byte-identical, preserving
geometry, UVs, normals, vertex colors, indices and embedded images. Glass and
the textured REAR_DEFROSTER retain their previous materials and blend state.
The rebuilt 240SX GLB and viewer asset-version update are copied into `dist`.

One cache-disabled packaged Chrome capture used L4RA route 736, distance 107,
radius 220, the 240SX and an 800x600 viewport. It reached `City scene ready`
with 67,700 nearby triangles, 190 textures, a ready reflection cube, an empty
page error readout and no runtime exceptions. The live material list contains
`dullplastic_vehicle_rear_wiper_preview (missing 77a20245)`.

The [loaded screenshot](../webgl-city/review/images/240sx-rear-wiper-preview.png)
shows a dark gray wiper against the tinted rear pane; the orange-brown
defroster lines remain visible. The body paint remains the existing neutral
preview. No automated tests were added or run.
