# Unresolved source slot `0x2e95ce7d`, r211

## Source evidence

The key `0x2e95ce7d` has no image in the eight installed regional STREAM TPK
tables, `GLOBALB.BUN`, or `LOC4DYNTEX.BIN`. Its 114 source material-slice
records all use `matid=255`, so there is no source material hash for a renderer
state. It occurs mainly on `XO_LIGHTPOLE*`, `XO_MEGALIGHT*`, and related
fixture objects; the same slot also appears on a few `XS_GT*` source objects.

The L4RD default capture showed a large black card ahead and to the right of
the road. Source inspection placed one such range at
`XO_LIGHTPOLEB_1A_00_0_2`; hiding that single slice removed the card while
leaving the pole, nearby roadway, and buildings visible. The package exporter
now omits geometry only when its source texture-slot key equals
`0x2e95ce7d`. This avoids assigning a fabricated image or material to the
other ranges of those objects.

## Rebuilt package

The eight GLBs omit 1,677 selected triangles assigned to this key, alongside
the separately identified image-less `HEADLIGHTGLOW` ranges. The per-region
counts are recorded in [`city-region-export-manifest.json`](city-region-export-manifest.json).
The clean GLBs and served chunks were regenerated together.

Chrome 150 loaded L4RD at the 120-unit radius with 22,445 nearby triangles,
109 textures, and no page or console errors. The black card is absent in the
normal view, without a debug visibility filter. The paired captures are in the
[review feed](../webgl-city/review/).

This removes one confirmed fallback artifact. Remaining dark geometry,
panorama compositing, pavement appearance, placement differences, and the
approximate player-physics model still need work. One L4RA capture in the
regional sweep lost WebGL context during upload; a fresh normal 240-unit L4RA
capture then reached `City scene ready` with 87,253 nearby triangles and no
browser errors.

## r339 follow-up: the common pack resolves this key

The earlier “no image” conclusion was limited to the regional TPK tables, `GLOBALB.BUN`, and `LOC4DYNTEX.BIN`. The XP install's `GLOBAL/InGameCommon.bun` contains the exact key `0x2e95ce7d`, named `SFX_LIGHT_BEAMB` (32×256 DXT3, usage 2, blend 2). The exporter now keeps geometry when this exact texture record is available, instead of applying the unresolved-black-card omission. The rebuilt eight-region manifest reports zero triangles omitted for unresolved black-card keys; L4RA restores 323 triangles from this key. See the [r339 common-pack recovery](city-ingamecommon-texture-recovery-r339.md) for extraction method and limits. The remaining renderer question is whether the preview's blend interpretation matches retail in every use.
