# Bayview authored-light gain adjustment, r335

I compared the packaged viewer at the same L4RA Route 450 start, 240SX, camera,
and 1280 × 577 viewport. Both runs reached `City scene ready`, rendered 22,508
nearby triangles and 128 nearby textures, and had no page error. The only
changed setting was the gain applied to exported authored city lights.

| Crop | gain 0.4 | gain 0.7 |
|---|---:|---:|
| Near asphalt `(100,280)-(500,500)` | `(75.6,76.5,75.8)` | `(80.9,81.8,81.8)` |
| Mid asphalt `(650,240)-(950,430)` | `(76.6,77.0,78.2)` | `(79.7,80.1,81.5)` |
| Retaining wall `(50,100)-(500,200)` | `(63.2,67.3,64.5)` | `(64.1,68.2,65.5)` |

The viewer default is now `0.7`. It gives the asphalt a modest lift while
leaving the sampled wall and distant sky nearly unchanged. Source lane paint
is unchanged; both yellow center lines and white lane markings remain texture
content. The earlier `0.4` setting kept one intersection readable, while `1.0`
was reported to wash it out there. This `0.7` value is a preview compromise,
not a recovered retail multiplier. Exact night exposure and fixture response
still need a retail gameplay comparison.
