# City becomes playable while traffic streams · r457

Startup no longer awaits the complete optional ambient-car roster. The city
loads its road, player car, controls and route data, clears the loading cover,
and continues uploading traffic bodies in the background. The stream indicator
keeps concurrent city-texture and traffic-model progress separate; completion
of one task no longer hides the other. Traffic texture uploads also stop
replacing the city's ready status with a generic texture counter.

In a host Chrome/WebGL2 capture, only the traffic BODY_A GLB requests were
artificially delayed by five seconds each. The loading cover cleared while
traffic was at 0/12. After a 2-second W hold the player was moving at 13 mph,
with first gear, 2,084 RPM and original AEMS/Ginsu audio active, while the
stream indicator showed 1/12 traffic models. The page reported `City scene
ready`; there were no console/page errors or failed requests. The captured
scene has 115 nearby road/city textures and the 240SX remains on the authored
L4RA roadway.

This verifies that slow optional traffic downloads do not block starting the
drive. Traffic appearance and retail AI behavior remain separate unfinished
fidelity gaps.
